DogMode ("DogMode", "we", "us") makes software that helps dog businesses send report cards, take bookings and payments, and stay in touch with their customers. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we look after it.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
DogMode holds information in two different roles, and different rules apply to each:
If you are a pet owner with a question about information a business holds about you in DogMode, the fastest path is to contact that business directly. We will help them respond. You can also reach us at hello@dogmode.site.
We do not sell personal information.
Our public website uses Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to understand how visitors find us and to measure our advertising. These tools use cookies and may collect your IP address and the pages you visit.
You can limit this in your browser's cookie settings, with Google's opt-out browser add-on, or through your Meta advertising preferences.
We use a small set of trusted providers to run DogMode. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, for example in the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to keep your information protected to the standard this policy describes.
We may also share information where the law requires it, or as part of a sale or restructure of our business. If that ever happens, we will let you know.
Every business's data is isolated at the database level, so one business can never see another's records. Data is encrypted in transit. Access to production systems is limited, and we monitor the service for errors and unusual behaviour.
Daily backups are kept so we can recover from failures.
No system is perfectly secure. If a data breach is ever likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
We keep account information while an account is active. If a business closes its account, we delete or de-identify its data within a reasonable period, except for records we must keep for legal, tax or accounting reasons.
Deleted cards go to a trash with a recovery window before they are permanently removed.
If a business messages you through DogMode, opting out works: use the unsubscribe link or ask the business, and DogMode silences every automated message to you.
We only send our own marketing to people who ask for it, and every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing hello@dogmode.site. We aim to respond within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us and we will do our best to put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
We will update this policy as DogMode grows. The date at the top shows the current version, and we will flag meaningful changes on this page.
