1. Health
The owner has told the groomer about every medical condition, allergy, injury and medication, and about anything the dog is sensitive to.
2. Matted coats
A matted coat may need to be clipped short to remove the mats safely. Removing mats can show skin irritation that was hidden underneath. The owner agrees the groomer may clip short where brushing out would hurt the dog.
3. Older and anxious dogs
Grooming can be stressful for older, unwell or anxious dogs. The groomer may stop a groom, or finish it another day, if continuing would put the dog at risk.
4. Behaviour
The owner has told the groomer if the dog has ever bitten or snapped. The groomer may use a muzzle or stop the groom to keep the dog and the groomer safe.
5. Emergencies
If the dog needs urgent care during a groom, the groomer will try to reach the owner at [phone], and may take the dog to [vet], at the owner's cost.
6. Photos
The owner [agrees or does not agree] that photos of the dog may be shared with them and on the business's own pages.
